recently, the “agile testbed” space experiment satellite, printed by blt and produced by cosats was carried by the “huayi i” suborbital rocket successfully to fly for the first time at a test site in northwest china.
the metal 3d printed “agile testbed” satellite is a satellite platform designed by cosats for space experiments in biology, medicine, materials and energy.
hu xin, cto of cosats, said that the new platform launched by cosats is intended to meet the increasingly commercialized and normalized demand for space experiment experiments.
blt was responsible for the printing of the main frame structure of the ” agile testbed ” satellite, which consists of four panels and four beams. in order to meet the technical requirements of lightweight and high stiffness of the main frame structure and the urgent nodal requirements of the project, blt used almgsc high strength aluminum alloy as the raw material and tri-laser blt-s400 machine to achieve rapid production.

blt responded quickly after receiving the production task and used tri-laser blt-s400 to complete the forming in one chamber with a total forming time of 35h. due to the urgency of the project, the parts were transferred internally only in 24 hours. after post-processing, machining and anodizing, and the delivery will be completed at 10 pm on the day of the deadline, with a total project duration of 8 days.
